JALALABAD (Pajhwok): One person was killed and six others wounded on Friday when a cylinder exploded in a hotel in Jalalabad city, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province, an official said.
Brig. Gen. Fazal Ahmad Sherzad, provincial police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the cylinder blast occurred at around 9: 00am in the kitchen of Salar Hotel in the city.
All the victims were employees of the hotel, he added. Shah Sawar, owner of the hotel, said it was a heavy blast which damaged parts of the hotel.
The injured were instantly rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment but two of the wounded were said to be in critical condition.
