Minister’s Biography (Mohammad Akbar Barakzai)

Mohammad Akbar Barakzai is the resident of Baghlan province, which has been born in 1960. He is graduated from agriculture faculty in 1979.

Replacing Waheedullah Shahrani, Barakzai was appointed minister of mines and petroleum ministry.

Earlier, he served as an assistant of Public Works Department, Water and Power Ministry, and governor of Baghlan and Ghazni provinces.

In addition, Barakzai has served for one year at the Ministry of Mines. He has political affiliation with Hizb-e-Islami, led by Gulbadin Hikmatyar.
